PROJECT DATA

  • This project is a new building for the Institute of Geology and the Advanced Computing Center on the J.J. Pickle Research Campus for the University of Texas at Austin.
  • The facility is a 94,000-square-foot, three-story, composite steel structure with brick veneer.
  • The 6,000-square-foot computer machine room has a 30" recessed floor space with raised access flooring.
  • The project was designed utilizing a new "Tier 2" University design standard.
  • The new standard incorporates more economical commercial building requirements in lieu of 100-year construction standards.
  • The project is the first to develop and utilize the Tier 2 standards on a multi-level structure for the University.
  • The building obtained LEED Certification as established by the US Green Building Council.
