PROJECT DATA
- The 92,000-square-foot project includes a 200-seat auditorium for teaching and presentations and a four-story structure connected by an enclosed areaway.
- The FedEx Institute of Technology is the premier technology research center in the mid-South.
- It serves as a research facility for the University of Memphis for many different programs, including masters program in the management of personnel in technology fields, scientific research facilities with links to laboratories all over the United States via fiber optics.
- The facility is also used for musical instructions, environmental and urban planning programs and development of new technology in the many diverse fields of the industry.
- The lobby floors are terrazzo, the walls are granite and fabric wrapped panels and the columns are wrapped in stainless steel.
- The exterior façade was composed of brick, granite, metal panels and a curtain wall system that includes many radiuses and angles.
