Q. How long has the company been in business?
The Flintco Companies, Inc. began as Tulsa
Rig, Reel & Manufacturing Co. (TRR) in 1908, supplying
wooden oilfield rigs and derricks during Oklahoma’s
oil boom in the early 1900s. Tulsa Rig, Reel &
Manufacturing expanded into contracting in 1936 and
in 1972, became Flintco, Inc. For nearly a century,
Flintco has built its business on strong client relationships.
We know our clients by name and they know us by our
reputation. We have a small company feel with all
the resources of a major corporation. That means our
clients get quality construction, regardless of the
project size or scope, delivered on time and on budget
by trusted construction professionals.

One of Flintco’s goals is to employ and train

Q. Is there a retirement plan?
Yes. Flintco provides a percentage company match for employee 401(k) plans
as one component of its many employee benefits and the employee may contribute
as much as 75% of base wages.

Yes. At a minimum, annual performance evaluations are conducted. Flintco’s

Q. What is Flintco’s dress code?
Flintco promotes a work environment appropriate to
the business. For construction management and crews,
the utmost attention is given to Occupational Safety
and Health Association (OSHA) requirements to ensure
a safe work site, therefore appropriate field requirements
dictate attire. At Flintco offices, business casual
is preferred.
Q. Does Flintco require its employees to travel?
The amount of time required for travel is dependent upon an individual’s
particular job. Some positions require regular travel, while others may require
none at all. When considering a position with Flintco, the interview process
will disclose how much travel is required with the position.

Q. What are Pre-Construction
Services?
Pre-Construction services are a range of activities performed by Flintco prior
to execution of construction including value analysis, constructability, cost
and schedule studies, procurement of long lead time items and staffing requirements.
Q. What is Construction
Management?
Construction Management is a project delivery system wherein Flintco serves
as an extension of the owner’s staff providing leadership regarding all
aspects of the construction process including design review, overall scheduling,
cost control, value engineering, constructability, preparation of bid packages
and construction coordination. There are two forms of agreements under Construction
Management: Construction Management Agency and Construction Management at Risk.
In delivery under Construction Management as Agency, Flintco provides Construction
Management as described above without obligation to carry out the construction
under a specified price. Conversely, Construction Management at Risk is a delivery
wherein Flintco additionally takes on the financial obligation to carry out
construction at a guaranteed maximum price (GMP).
Q. What is Design/Build?
Design/Build is a project delivery system based
on an agreement whereby the designers are contracted
under Flintco, with Flintco serving as a single source
of responsibility for the owner, providing turnkey services
for the design and construction of the project.
Q. What is Project Management?
Project Management is a delivery system wherein Flintco
provides comprehensive management services to the
owner from the programming stage through occupancy,
virtually serving as a surrogate owner, providing
all the procurement and coordination of design, construction,
close-out and move-in.
Q. What is Program Management?
Program Management is a delivery system similar
to project management; however, it involves the delivery
of multiple projects. Program Management is a delivery
system wherein Flintco provides comprehensive management
services for a series of projects, either sequential
or delivered concurrently, to the owner; from the
programming stage, sequencing of projects to optimize
schedule and efficiencies, through occupancy, providing
all the procurement and coordination of design, construction,
close-out and move-in.
Q. What is General Contracting?
General Contracting is a project delivery system wherein
Flintco has been selected, typically through a bid process,
as the lowest bidder, overseeing subcontractors to construct
the project based on a pre-defined scope of work and
drawings. The contract agreement is based solely on
the project documents defined at the time of bid. |
