Tulsa Rig, Reel & Manufacturing Company begins
as a supplier of oilfield equipment, lumber and rig timbers
for oil derricks in Oklahoma. 1938
Creates General Construction division. Begins construction
on major military training centers, such as Fort Leonard
Wood (Mo) and Dodge City and Garden City Air bases
in Kansas.
1958
Begins the first construction/remodel job for Hillcrest
Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla. Flintco has continued
as the on-site contractor ever since. 1977
Construct Oklahoma’s tallest building, the
Bank of Oklahoma Tower, containing 51 stories. 1983
Celebrates 75 years in business and creates Oakridge
Builders. 1984
Opens Oklahoma City, Okla. office. 1987
Opens Memphis, Tenn. office.
1988
Begins first construction project for Baptist Memorial
Health Care Corporation in Memphis, Tenn. Flintco has
continued to provide services to this client ever since.
1992
Begins work on the first American Indian project – the
Redbird Smith Health Center in Sallisaw, Okla.
1994
Opens Albuquerque, N.M. office with a focus on further
development of its American Indian work.
1997
Receives National Excellence Award for the National
Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City,
Okla. 1999
Opens Sacramento, Calif. office. Receives National
Awards for the David L. Moss Correctional Facility
in Tulsa, Okla. and for having one of the top three
best safety records in the nation.
2000
Opens Springfield, Mo. Office. Receives National
Excellence Award for having one of the top three best
safety records in the nation, second year in a row. 2001
Receives National Award for having top safety records
in the nation, third year in a row. Receives the U.S.
Department of Commerce National Minority Construction
Firm of the Year. 2002
Launches trademark approach to project success:
ZERO BY Design®. Receives National Award for the
Civic Center Music Hall Renovation in Oklahoma City,
Okla.
2003
Achieves annual revenues in excess of half a billion
dollars. Awarded National Design/Build Award for the
State Capitol Dome in Oklahoma City, Okla.
2004
Opens Austin office. Receives National Project of
the Year Award for the STAX Music Academy and Museum
of American Soul Music, Memphis, Tenn.
2005
Receives Wal-Mart® Contractor of the Year award;
National Minority Business Advocate of the Year Award
from the U.S. Department of Commerce; and for the fourth
time, National Safety Award Winner from Associated
